Although he’s only 11, Prince George is already being groomed for his future role as King of England, according to expert Jennie Bond.

The royal couple aims to delay the moment when George fully realizes his destiny, allowing him to enjoy his childhood for as long as possible, said the former BBC royal correspondent.
Jennie Bond shared with Fabulous: “Preparing a child for this unique role is a tremendous challenge, unlike anything his peers will experience. They are keen to delay his complete awareness of his future role, working hard to let George have the childhood he needs and deserves.”

While Princess Kate and Prince William strive to keep George’s school and holiday experiences private, he has been seen more frequently this year. One notable appearance was at the Euros 2024 final with William, where England narrowly missed out on the trophy.
Jennie added: “They are gradually introducing him to the public. We now see him on the public stage more often, whether at formal state events or more casual occasions like football matches or the Taylor Swift concert. He’s getting used to being in the spotlight.”

Jennie Bond noted that Prince William was introduced to royal life more quickly than Prince George. One method of managing George’s public exposure is through official photos taken by Kate Middleton.
Jennie explained: “Kate has done a commendable job limiting George’s exposure by providing the press with her own photographs. This approach seems to help balance his public presence.”
Kate’s key rule for Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis revolves around kindness.
HELLO! Online’s Royal Correspondent observed: “Based on photos of Princess Diana and the current Princess of Wales, both are very affectionate with their children. Kate is often seen holding their hands or giving them cuddles. She engages with them at their level during public events, much like Diana did.”
At their home in Adelaide Cottage, Windsor, Kate is reportedly a “very normal mum,” balancing a relaxed attitude with necessary discipline.

Unlike Prince William, who had solo lunches with the Queen during his school years, Prince George is still at Lambrook School and has not yet chosen a secondary school. However, he is spending quality time with King Charles, who loves seeing his grandchildren more frequently now that he is based in Windsor.
Jennie added: “King Charles enjoys spending time with his grandchildren, and as he spends more time at Windsor, they are seeing each other more. It’s important for George to observe what being King entails, but the focus is on maintaining their close grandfather-grandson bond.”

Kate and William are keen to allow George to pursue his interests before taking on his royal duties. Jennie noted: “There may be increasing pressure in the next 10 to 15 years for him to fully step into his royal role. However, Catherine, in particular, wants George to have the opportunity to explore other activities. He might pursue military service or voluntary work, or both.”

In December, George, Charlotte, and Louis assisted Kate at a Baby Bank in sorting Christmas gifts, and in May, they volunteered at a Scout hut. Jennie feels that these charitable activities are part of the plan for George’s future.
Jennie concluded, “Catherine is eager to teach George and his siblings the value of helping others. Participating in these activities teaches them that helping others is gratifying and valuable.

Having royal friends can be “difficult” if one is not cautious, but Jennie praised George’s support network of cousins. “He has a tight-knit circle of cousins, which is beneficial. Kate is guiding him well, demonstrating that she is a caring mother navigating a challenging role.”
Jennie expressed confidence that Kate, with her thoughtful approach, will successfully guide George through his future responsibilities.
