### **Prince Harry’s UK Visit: Hopes for Reunion with King Charles Dashed Due to Busy Schedule**

**No Reunion with King Charles**

Prince Harry has landed back on UK soil ahead of a special Invictus Games event, but any hopes of seeing King Charles during his visit have been dashed. The Duke of Sussex said he “hopes” to see his father “soon,” as the King’s “full programme” meant a reunion was not possible during this brief trip.

A spokesperson for the Duke stated, “In response to the many inquiries and continued speculation on whether or not the Duke will meet with his father while in the UK this week, it unfortunately will not be possible due to His Majesty’s full programme. The Duke, of course, is understanding of his father’s diary of commitments and various other priorities and hopes to see him soon.”

**Speculation on the State of Relations**

Emily Nash, a royal commentator, noted, “To an outsider, it may seem odd that they can’t make time for a meeting, but the King is head of state and has his diary planned months in advance – so it wasn’t a given that it would happen, with Harry only here for a couple of days. It will inevitably lead to speculation over the state of their relationship, which has come under pressure over the past few years.”

**Solo Trip Without Meghan and Children**

This visit marks Prince Harry’s first return to the UK since February, when he last met with his father after the King’s cancer diagnosis. The Duke, now living with his family in California, traveled solo for this trip, leaving Meghan Markle and their two children in LA.

Harry, 39, will not be staying at Buckingham Palace but at a London hotel, as he lost Frogmore Cottage when he stepped down as a working royal in 2020. He is expected to give a speech tomorrow at a service in St Paul’s Cathedral in London, an event that will not be attended by any members of his immediate family.

**Meghan Markle’s Absence from the UK**

The Duchess of Sussex has not been in the UK since 2022 when she attended the late Queen Elizabeth’s funeral. While Harry is expected to spend three days in his home country, he will then fly to Nigeria to continue the Invictus Games celebrations, where he will be joined by Meghan. The couple is expected to give addresses about the games during the Nigerian leg of the celebrations, though it is unclear whether they will be accompanied by their children, Archie and Lilibet.

**Focus on the Invictus Games**

Despite the lack of a family reunion, Prince Harry appeared in good spirits when photographed at Invictus-related events today. Reflecting on the Invictus Games, Harry wrote, “It has been an honour to watch the Invictus Games Foundation grow over the years; what began as a vision to pay tribute to the courage and resilience of wounded, injured, and sick service personnel and veterans has flourished into an international organisation built on hope, strength, and unity.”

**Ongoing Speculation and Future Expectations**.

Harry’s visit has aroused much conjecture, notably over his relationship with his father and brother, Prince William. There have been no reports of any meetings with William or Kate Middleton during this trip. However, the Duke remains committed to the Invictus Games, championing a cause near to his heart.
