Doria Ragland warns her daughter’s ex-husband when he sought to “disrupt” Meghan and Harry’s marriage

### Doria Ragland Comes to Meghan Markle’s Defense Over Ex-Husband’s TV Comedy Plans

Meghan Markle may have married into the royal family and is on the cusp of motherhood, but her mom, Doria Ragland, remains a steadfast supporter by her side. Reports suggest that Doria came to her daughter’s defense when news surfaced that Meghan’s ex-husband, Trevor Engelson, planned to launch a TV comedy based on their failed marriage.

According to The Sun, “Doria Ragland, who is currently preparing to head to Windsor for the imminent arrival of Baby Sussex, was previously dispatched by the Duchess of Sussex to confront her ex-husband Trevor Engelson about his plans to launch a TV comedy based on the couple’s failed marriage.”

The comedy, which was in development with the executive producer of “Modern Family” at Fox Studios, sparked significant discussions. The proposed storyline centered around the ex-husband of a British princess struggling with shared custody of their fictitious child in England, drawing clear parallels to Meghan and Prince Harry’s public life. Meghan opposed the comedy, particularly as it planned to mock the royal romance on a weekly basis.

The Sun suggests Meghan’s mother “maintained a friendly relationship with Trevor – and her intervention seems to have worked. He ended up agreeing to drop the comedy altogether.” Meghan and Trevor dated from 2004 and married in 2011. He was a producer on her legal drama “Suits.” The Duchess has not made any formal announcement about the TV show.

### Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Criticized Over Netflix Trailers

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have faced criticism from US hosts for “always crying” in their Netflix trailers. The final trailer for their docuseries “Harry & Meghan” featured new footage of Meghan in tears, prompting backlash from hosts of “The View,” Joy Behar and Ana Navarro.

Navarro particularly criticized Meghan for frequently appearing tearful in the clips and said, “I just wish that every time I saw Meghan and Harry they weren’t crying and wiping away tears and they were giving me something positive.” She also called out the couple for allegedly attempting to overshadow Prince William and Kate Middleton’s US visit with the timing of their Netflix trailer release.

Navarro commented, “First of all, I think Netflix is great at marketing and I think Harry and Meghan are great at marketing themselves. They have done – they’ve now earned tens and tens of millions of dollars out of their story, which they have been telling, it seems to me, for years now, and they’re very good at it.”

She continued, “So, I don’t know if they had the power to tell Netflix, ‘Drop it when my brother is here,’ but I think they probably did have the power to tell Netflix, ‘Don’t drop it when my brother is here.’”
