Despite their noble royal lineage, Prince George and Princess Charlotte have very ordinary career dreams.
Even young members of the British royal family have their own dreams for the future. Prince George, who will one day become king after his father, Prince William, has shared that he would like to be a police officer. His sister, Princess Charlotte, has her own career aspiration—she wants to become a nurse.
This is entirely possible because before taking on royal duties, many members of the royal family have worked in ordinary jobs. Prince William and Princess Kate are no exception. Before becoming a helicopter pilot for East Anglian Air Ambulance, Prince William served in the Royal Air Force. Meanwhile, Princess Kate also worked part-time at the retail chain Jigsaw after graduating from university.
Prince Harry, George and Charlotte’s uncle, also served in the army for 10 years. Queen Camilla also previously worked as a receptionist and secretary.
In 2018, at an event at Kensington Palace, Prince William revealed that Prince George “absolutely loved” being a police officer. He said: “George is obsessed with police… cars, toys, everything.”
At the event, Police Commissioner Jayne Richardson explained to William the need for more officers in the area, joking: “We’re recruiting, so if George and Charlotte want to…?”
Princess Kate has talked about how much his son loves being a police officer before. In 2017, while he was in Helsinki, he wrote Santa Claus a letter and asked for just one thing for Christmas: a police car.
Charlotte, Princess of Wales, wants to become a nurse. Hearing Prince William talk about the work that NHS workers do made her dream come true. A person with close ties to the Royal Family told New Idea that Charlotte has told her parents that she wants to become a nurse one day.
