Mr Trump has a notoriously tough stance on immigration, heightening fears that the Duke of Sussex could be deported and sent back to the UK following his and Meghan Markle’s exit from the Royal Family in 2020.

Nile Gardiner, a member of the Heritage Foundation, said Mr Trump could use his executive powers to overturn Homeland Security’s decision and release Prince Harry’s visa application.

Before his election, Mr. Trump told Express US that he would not “protect” Prince Harry, sparking speculation about what this could mean for Harry’s future in the U.S.

“I wouldn’t protect him,” Trump stated. “He betrayed the Queen. That’s unforgivable. If it were up to me, he’d be on his own.”

“They have now departed Canada for the United States, but the latter will not pay for their security protection. “They must pay!”
