Meghan Markle’s return to the UK seems increasingly unlikely, dashing hopes that she might join Prince Harry for the upcoming 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games in London. Since stepping back from royal duties in 2020, Meghan has rarely visited the UK, with one of the few notable appearances being for Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee in June 2022. During that visit, however, Meghan and Harry reportedly received a mixed reception, facing some boos from the crowd as they exited St Paul’s Cathedral after a service of thanksgiving.
Meghan’s absence from Harry’s solo visit for King Charles’ coronation in May 2023 only fueled further speculation. American news anchor Megyn Kelly suggested that Meghan’s decision to stay away might stem from concerns about potential public scrutiny and a repeat of past backlash.
Following their eviction from Frogmore Cottage, a property gifted to them by the Queen, Harry and Meghan no longer have a home in the UK. This eviction, served by King Charles in January of the previous year, led to the couple returning the keys in June 2023 and relocating their belongings to their new residence in California.
Reports suggest that any future stays at royal residences would necessitate a private agreement with the King, underscoring the complexities of Harry and Meghan’s relationship with the UK and the Royal Family.
Meghan didn’t join the Prince on his last trip to England on May 8th for the Invictus Games, which Harry holds very dear. Instead she went to Nigeria on an official trip, something that angered the Royal Family very much.
Well the Duchess will maybe even go to England, but not on official visits, not as a Royal, she doesn’t want to add any value to that family. SHE IS DONE WITH THE UK.
